This Is What We Been Waiting For

Its been a long time coming.  Ever since Baltimore ripped our hearts out and stomped them flat at the closing of Texas Stadium.  Ever since our Heroes turned in a gutless performance in the last game of the year in Filthydelphia.

Sure the first 11 games counted, the ugly wins, the fugly losses, the pretty wins, the heartbreaking opening game of the year.  In reality they all count the same in the standings.

But, after Thanksgiving the spotlight shines brighter, tension mounts, people start figuring out playoff scenarios.  It feels different.  Unless you are 11-0 or 10-1 like a few teams you don’t have much wiggle room to punch your ticket to the tournament.

Reality says the 7-6 win over Washington counts just as much as game played this week.  Reality may be technically correct.  Cowboys fans worldwide know better.  A December trip to the Meadowlands to play the giants offers the Boys of the Blue Star a shot at rinsing that nasty taste of last year out of thousands of mouths.  A road victory, late in the year, against a division rival that is fighting for their own playoff chances would be stronger than minty Listerine.

This is the next big game.  Win this one and even though it guarantees you nothing it makes people think that maybe, just maybe these guys aren’t the same team from last year.

I understand that the game after this one will be the next big game.  But not until Monday.  For now it’s whoever's next in line.  The guys with Stars on their helmets need to win this week.  Stop all the talk about past failures before it snowballs.

I think they will.  I like this team.  This is exactly what I have been waiting for.  Buckle up them chinstraps .  Later Poke

Where did the Cowboys entire Offensive line and some of the defense hang out in the offseason-Granada Theater to watch Leonard Davis, Mark Columbo and Cory Procter's band Free Reign. You can cheer the Cowboys when they are on the road at Granada Theater for free at their weekly watching party-they have the game on three 20 foot movie screens. If you reserve a seat before each Friday at noon you can eat a great meal for $5. This is the 5th season of parties.

So Roy Williams started easing his way out of my doghouse but Nick Folk is trying to take his place. McBriar is trying to take some of that heat off Folk claiming he tilted the ball before the kick. Somebody on Dallas' defense is in my doghouse for letting Brandon Jacobs rumble-bumble-stumble 74 yards on a 1 yard pass completion. Somebody on Dallas' punt return team is in my doghouse for letting Domenik Hixon return a punt 79 yards without being touched as best I could tell. Marion the Barbarian is standing at the entrance to my doghouse trying to get in but there isn't room for him right now. Flozelle, you sir are an idiot for that bone-headed push on Tuck and if/when you are suspended you will have plenty of time to think about how you damaged the team's chances, that was pretty disgusting. I've vented now so I'll move on. Please correct me if I am wrong.
