same old same old

no pressure on their qb, weak coverage on passes, poor blocking on passing downs,
pretty weak special teams, dropped passes, bad coaching decsions and PENALTIES PENALTIES PENALTIES. even the game winning field goal wouldnt have been a possiblity
if not for that last face mask penalty. guess that was only fitting that a penalty
would give the skins another chance. im not going to say the refs were calling it wrong, we got away with some ourselves. you just cannot keep giving any NFL team
chance after chance. and if we dont find a way to use terry glenn and quit trying to
put all our eggs in the TO basket we are done. and it would be nice to have a tight end who could run after a catch . oh well i guess if i could have all that it would be a fantasy league. well you cant say we arent consistent, win one, lose one seems
to be the kind of team we are...again. later disgusted Poke

I've had 8 hours to mull this over and my thoughts keep taking me back to one play. It wasn't the other reciever dropping a pass although that would have made a difference. I wasn't the failed two-point conversion attempt, which by the way was dumb and a one-point conversion would have made a difference. It wasn't even the penalty on the blocked field goal even if that penalty should have been only a 5 yarder. The one play that sticks in my craw is the safety. It wasn't the play call that stands out, I've seen dumber as a matter of fact today in this game. Like taking the ball out of Romo's hand and attempting a field goal for one. I digress, let me get back to that play. The ball was spotted before the play started obviously outside the end zone. That would have the O-line with at a minimum their rears in the end zone. Jones was tackled behind the goal line so that must mean the O-line got their kiesters handed to them on that play. I'm sure since I'm not a future hall of fame coach there is probably some fine detail I missed on that play but shouldn't the O-line at least be able to stand the ground they already posess. Somebody get in here and spell posess for me.

possess
straight from the online merriam-webster....which means i had to go look cuz i wasnt sure.
and yes the safety was the worst way for us to start after our defense held them out of the end zone. so many mistakes it may take us all week to list them all here.

don't forget that we had gotten a penalty right before that safety which moved the ball even closer to the goal line. pretty sad when our best running back running behind our most experienced lineman loses yardage. and on such a critical play. are we going to win more than 3 more games all year? to quote the magic 8 ball, "outlook not so good"
