Snatching defeat from the Jaws of Victory

madder than a wet hornet...sick to my stomach...sorely disappointed.
take your pick, any and all describe me right now.
The Boys hopefully feel the same way.
I was so proud of those guys.
Road game, cold cold weather.
Star players hurt and more getting that way all day.
Looked bad on offense from the start.
Defense kept us in the game.
Tied at the half, okay we gotta chance.
GREAT 3rd quarter, Romo overcame his horrible start.
Choice looked great all day.
Ahead 13-6 after the defense held Pitt to a field goal.
Pitt kicks the kickoff out of bounds !!! Our ball on the 40 !!
A short field...a field goal puts us up 10 and it didnt look like Pitt
could even score once much less twice.
Even a halfway decent drive puts this game in our pocket, eats up some clock
and keeps the ball away from Pitt.
But like my old dad used to say " some people just cant stand a lil prosperity ".
The Good Guys started blowing it right then...bad play calls, even worse execution
and wow 3 plays later we punt.
poor punt coverage kept the ball rolling downhill against us.
The Pitt offense makes some plays and the Dallas D just cant keep stopping
them all day long.
score tied.
enough time for us to move down, score and still win.
nope, not today.
witten and romo run different plays and the unthinkable happens.
just like that the Boys turn victory into defeat.
welcome to December in Cowboy fandom.
still proud of the good guys effort.
just bitterly disappointed in the result.
and oh so sad.
later Poke

ps. somehow we gotta shake this loss off, get ready for the football Giants
and beat them at Texas Stadium. COME ON COWBOYS !!!!

what was RHG smoking that made him think that a running play (around the end, no less) was a dandy call to make on third and five late in the game when we needed...NEEDED a first down? and why are we the only team in the nfl that can't get our wide receivers open on a consistent basis? and what's the deal with that jacket that wade was wearing? we have the sta-puft marshmallow man for a coach! oh, the humanity!

i think at that point our RHG was
playing to "not lose" as opposed
to playing " to win ".
as far as those inflatible jackets...when people refer to your camps as camp marshmellow and you are waistline challenged (like myself) maybe you should stay away from BLIMPS turned into coats.
IF our WR had been able to get open
could Tony have hit them (or anything)?
